Ridi Webtoon 'Chukje-neun Imi Sijakdoeotda' Signs Video Adaptation Contract

[Asia Economy Reporter Seo Mideum] Content platform company RIDI announced on the 19th that it has signed a video adaptation contract for the webtoon “The Festival Has Already Begun”.

The Festival Has Already Begun is a work that tells the coming-of-age story of the protagonist “Chae Seora,” who transfers from Seoul to an island village, and “Kwon Bada,” a girl who wants to leave the island village, who meet by fate and struggle to achieve their dream of becoming musicians. It won both the Grand Prize and the IP Award at the 2020 “1st Place 100 Million Won” RIDI Webtoon Contest.

The video adaptation of The Festival Has Already Begun will be handled by Big Stone Pictures, the production company behind the record-breaking domestic box office hits The Admiral: Roaring Currents and War of the Arrows. Big Stone Pictures plans to present a refreshing musical drama that captures the original work’s emotions.

A RIDI official said, “The two protagonists, who were at odds from their first meeting, will depict a story of friendship and growth set against the backdrop of the island village, making this a healing webtoon cherished by many fans,” adding, “We ask for your great interest in The Festival Has Already Begun, which will unfold beyond the original’s fun and emotion into a video format.”

Meanwhile, the webtoon The Festival Has Already Begun can be enjoyed on RIDI’s website and mobile app.
