[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Semiconductor equipment company Hanmi Semiconductor announced on the 15th that it recorded sales of 123.2 billion KRW and an operating profit of 43.9 billion KRW in the second quarter. It surpassed last year's second quarter sales of 108.9 billion KRW, achieving the largest quarterly performance since its founding.
A Hanmi Semiconductor official stated, "In the second quarter of this year, orders for key equipment such as the world market-leading semiconductor essential process equipment ‘Micro Saw and Vision Placement’ and ‘TSV TC and Flip Chip Bonder’ increased," adding, "With improved conditions such as overseas logistics and the lifting of COVID-19 lockdowns, we achieved our best quarterly performance."
He continued, "Through the wafer micro saw scheduled to be launched in the second half of this year, we will actively target the wafer saw market, which is about 10 times larger than the package saw market," and added, "By 2024, we expect to generate sales exceeding 200 billion KRW from micro saw standalone equipment."
Hanmi Semiconductor plans to grow into a premium micro saw equipment specialist company by achieving annual sales of 600 billion KRW. It succeeded in domestic production of the micro saw, a semiconductor package dicing (SAW) equipment, in June last year. It received the ‘IR52 Jang Young-sil Award’ in April.
Hanmi Semiconductor was the only domestic semiconductor company to be named among the ‘Top 10 Semiconductor Equipment Companies in Customer Satisfaction Survey 2022’ selected by TechInsights, a semiconductor research specialist organization.
