Homeplus Provides Paid Leave to Employees Receiving 4th COVID-19 Vaccine Dose

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Homeplus announced on the 15th that it will provide 2 days of paid leave to employees who have received the 4th COVID-19 vaccine dose.

The 4th dose vaccine leave is granted according to government guidelines to employees born before 1972 or those with underlying health conditions who have completed the 3rd dose (2nd dose for Janssen) and after 4 months have passed. The number of eligible employees for this vaccine leave is about 10,500, accounting for approximately 52% of Homeplus's total workforce of around 20,000 employees.

Homeplus requested cooperation for vaccine leave not only from headquarters and store employees but also from transportation companies to which online delivery drivers who interact with customers belong, as well as partner companies employing online customer center counselors.

Two days of paid leave, including the day of vaccination, will be applied, and if adverse reactions occur, employees can use an additional 1 day of vaccine leave without submitting separate documents such as a doctor's note.

A Homeplus official stated, “As COVID-19 rapidly resurges, we have proactively decided to provide paid leave after consulting with the company-wide labor council ‘Hanmaeum Council’ to ensure employees' health and sufficient rest. We will do our best to create a safe working environment for employees and workers and provide customers with a comfortable shopping experience.”
