Earn 10 Points Per Can or PET Bottle... Cash Redemption Available from 2000 Points
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] KB Kookmin Card announced on the 14th that it signed a business agreement with Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 13th regarding the 'Smart AI Recycling Machine Project.'
Through this agreement, KB Kookmin Card and Jongno-gu plan to install smart AI recycling machines (called Nephron) at the KB Kookmin Card headquarters and Jongno-gu Office to create an environment that practices greenhouse gas reduction and resource recycling.
Users of the recycling machines can register through the device manufacturer (Superbin) website or application and then insert recyclable cans and PET bottles into the machine. Afterwards, users receive points that can be converted into cash. Regardless of the shape or size of cans and transparent PET bottles, 10 points are accumulated per item, and from 2,000 points, cash refunds are possible. Additionally, the collected resources are processed into high value-added recycled materials and recycled.
A KB Kookmin Card official stated, "Following last year's eco-friendly reusable cup project with Jongno-gu Office as part of the Carbon Diet, we consider it very meaningful that employees can participate in greenhouse gas reduction and resource circulation through small actions in their work environment with this agreement." He added, "KB Kookmin Card has actively participated as a member of the Jongno-gu Climate Action Practice Council in initiatives such as the '111 Life Practice Movement (reducing 1 ton of greenhouse gases per person per year)' and plans to strengthen environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management activities based on public-private cooperation going forward."
