[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) has decided to actively communicate with residents by conducting a ‘Civil Service Satisfaction Survey Using QR Codes’ for visiting civil petitioners.

The newly introduced ‘QR Code Utilization Satisfaction Survey’ by the district allows civil petitioners to access QR codes attached at the entrances of each department and community service centers with their smartphones and respond to questions about their satisfaction with the services received and any suggestions.

By adding the QR code-based survey method to the existing telephone survey method, accessibility has increased, and people can freely express their opinions.

The district conducts a first satisfaction survey via QR codes and text messages, followed by a second telephone survey for non-respondents.

Additionally, the district has launched the mobile anonymous corruption reporting channel ‘Malgeumnuri DongjakTalk’ to take a step closer to online integrity communication.

‘Malgeumnuri DongjakTalk’ is an online communication channel where affiliated public officials can report internal power abuse and irregularities anonymously through 1:1 chat without being restricted by time or place.

Mayor Park Il-ha of Dongjak-gu said, “Today, integrity is not just about being free from corruption but about communicating with residents and responding actively,” adding, “Please look forward to a transparent Dongjak built together with residents through continuous communication.”

The district has set ‘Creating a Trustworthy and Transparent Dongjak for Residents’ as a key pledge of the 8th local government administration, focusing on ▲promoting integrity policies involving both public and private sectors ▲strengthening online integrity communication systems ▲operating resident participation auditors, and plans to intensify efforts to enhance the district’s culture of integrity through communication with the private sector.

Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced that it will hold a subscription and like event titled ‘Seocho, How About Subscribing~♬’ through the official YouTube channel until the 12th of next month to widely share various district news.

The YouTube channel ‘Seocho-gu,’ launched in 2012, provides residents with fun and informative content by breaking away from the rigid image of government offices through △‘Seocho Vitamin News’ delivering impactful district news, △‘Seoripul Crew’ where staff introduce facilities tours, daily vlogs, parodies, etc., and △‘Web Drama’ dramatizing district projects.

In particular, the ‘One-Person Household Web Drama’ is a ‘Soft and Youthful Romance Web Drama’ infused with support content from the Seocho One-Person Household Support Center, receiving a favorable response with a cumulative view count of 53,000.

To participate, watch the event subscription video on the official Seocho-gu YouTube channel, then submit a screenshot showing ‘like’ and ‘comment’ along with your name and contact information via a Naver form.

The district will draw 100 participants by lottery to receive gifticons for chicken sets (20 people), ice cream (30 people), and iced coffee (50 people). Winners will be announced on the official YouTube channel on the 18th of next month and notified individually via text message.

A district official said, “This event is expected to have a twofold effect, allowing subscribers to enjoy fun YouTube videos during the hot summer and receive delicious and refreshing gifts.”

Additionally, the district is recruiting the ‘Seoripul Reporters’ until the 12th of next month. The Seoripul Reporters are honorary citizen reporters who work on the Seocho-gu newsletter published by the district. They write articles on various district news, and selected articles are published in the newsletter distributed throughout Seocho-gu. Applicants must be Seocho-gu residents aged 18 or older, with preference given to those with relevant experience. Details can be found on the Seocho-gu district office website.

Mayor Jeon Seong-su of Seocho-gu said, “We ask for your interest and participation in the YouTube event introducing various aspects of Seocho and the recruitment of Seoripul Reporters,” adding, “We will continue to present fun and diverse content and do our best to communicate with residents in line with the non-face-to-face era.”

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee), together with Seoul National University, will operate the 14th ‘Citizen Environmental University’ to provide residents with a higher level of environmental education content.

‘Citizen Environmental University’ is an environmental specialized education program taught by professors from Seoul National University’s Graduate School of Environmental Studies and other environmental experts. It covers various topics related to the environment such as climate crisis and change, environmental pollution like fine dust, ecology, and sustainable cities, explained in an easy-to-understand manner for residents.

Last year, due to the impact of COVID-19, the lectures were conducted online, but this year they will be held face-to-face in the lecture rooms of Seoul National University’s Graduate School of Environmental Studies, allowing for more vivid and detailed lectures.

The lectures will start on September 7, held every Wednesday from 7 PM for two hours, totaling 12 sessions.

After the course ends, a completion ceremony will be held at Seoul National University, and students who attend nine or more lectures will receive a certificate jointly signed by the Mayor of Gwanak-gu and the Dean of Seoul National University’s Graduate School of Environmental Studies.

Enrollment starts on the 18th on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications can be made online through the Gwanak-gu website under Participation/Reservation - Participation Application or by visiting the Green Environment Division on the 4th floor of the district office. The tuition fee is 60,000 KRW.

Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “‘Citizen Environmental University’ is a desirable role model of public-private-academic governance involving Gwanak-gu, Seoul National University, and residents,” adding, “We will continue to lead lifelong learning for residents with excellent local educational resources.”
