Rain cloud band moves south bringing hourly 30mm heavy rain to Jeolla region

As the stationary front moves south, rain has subsided in the metropolitan area, central regions, and Gyeongbuk, but the Jeolla region is experiencing more than 15mm of rain per hour until the morning. During the morning commute, the Jeolla region will see heavy rain around 30mm per hour accompanied by gusts and thunder/lightning. Seoul, Incheon, western Gyeonggi, and the east coast of Gangwon will see less than 0.1mm of raindrops.

Cool and dry air is positioned in the upper atmosphere, and the surface is heating up, causing atmospheric instability. Showers of 5-20mm are expected in the afternoon in eastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, and northern inland Gyeongbuk. From the morning of the 15th through the night, showers are expected in the metropolitan area, Gangwon, inland Chungcheong, eastern Jeolla, and Gyeongsang regions.
