Goheung County Council Awards First Promotion Appointment Letters After Personnel Authority Independence

First Deliberation and Resolution on Grade 6 Promotion by the Personnel Committee

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] The Goheung County Council in Jeollanam-do (Chairman Lee Jae-hak) announced that it carried out its first promotion personnel appointment on July 11, following the independence of personnel authority in local councils on January 13.

Due to a vacancy at the grade 6 level caused by personnel exchanges with Goheung County, the council held a personnel committee meeting to review and approve the promotion candidates.

The first person to receive a promotion approved by the personnel committee was Officer Lee Jong-yoon.

An official from the personnel committee stated, “This is a historic moment as it is the first promotion since the full revision of the Local Autonomy Act in December 2020, which granted local council chairpersons personnel authority over their staff.”

Chairman Lee Jae-hak said, “This is a commemorative day marking the first personnel exchange with Goheung County and the first issuance of a promotion appointment letter. We will strive to conduct fair personnel management to boost employee morale and ensure stable operation of the organization.”
