Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee Donates 530 Million Won to Vulnerable Groups and Children/Youth

For Medical and Educational Support Purposes

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 12th that it has delivered the entire donation amount of approximately 530 million KRW from the 9th Mercedes-Benz Give & Race to related beneficiary organizations for medical and educational support for underprivileged children and adolescents.

The donations raised through this Give & Race will support the Gangnam Severance Hospital Respiratory Rehabilitation Center's rare and incurable pediatric patient support project, the Ildul and Future Foundation's single-parent family children and youth support project, the Seungil Hope Foundation's scholarship program for children of ALS patients, the Wildflower Youth World group home, and medical and educational support projects for children and adolescents. Additionally, funds will be provided to the Busan Metropolitan City Sports Council and Dong-A University Hospital for sports scholarships and medical expense support projects.

At the donation ceremony for Busan area beneficiaries held at Busan Metropolitan City Hall, Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, Thomas Klein, Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee, Koo Ja-jung, CEO of Busan MBC, and Lee Hoon-kyu, Chairman of the Social Welfare Corporation Ildul and Future Foundation, attended.

Thomas Klein, Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee, stated, “Give & Race is a donation culture spreading run that combines sports and donations, establishing itself as Mercedes-Benz’s representative social contribution activity.” He added, “Especially, the 9th Give & Race was conducted with the support of Busan Metropolitan City, allowing us to provide medical expenses to underprivileged groups in Busan and scholarships to promising athletes, enabling us to support the local community more closely, which makes me very pleased.”
