The Best Actor award went to actor Yoon Namu, who played the role of 'Nebula' in the original musical 'Showman.' He debuted in 2011 with the play 'Samdeungbyeong' and has performed in musicals such as 'Kill Me Now,' 'Model Students,' and 'The Mysterious Incident That Happened to a Dog at Midnight.' Patrick Biskocil, who played 'Calaf' in the opening production 'Turandot' (Slovakia), was named co-recipient of the Best Actor award.
Choi Seoyeon, who won the Best Actress award, debuted as a musical actress in 2009 and gave a passionate performance as the real-life figure Mary Anning in the original musical 'Mary Anning.' She has also delivered strong performances in works such as 'Rent,' 'Mamma Mia,' 'Excalibur,' and 'Frida.'
The Grand Prize went to the British musical 'The Choir of Man.' The Best Supporting Actress award was given to Kim Ahyoung for 'Drawing Spring,' and the Best Supporting Actor award went to Hong Junggi for 'Sandeul.' The Grand Prize at the University Musical Festival was awarded to Baekseok University for their presentation of 'Les Mis?rables.'
The Aseong Creator Award, named after the late Lee Pildong, the first DIMF executive chairman, was awarded to director Park Soyoung, who directed 'Showman.' The Merit Award was given to Kim Seungsu, a member of the People Power Party and National Assembly, who proposed the 'Amendment to the Performance Act' classifying musicals as an independent genre under the Performance Act.
