On the 8th, Establishment and Implementation of 'COVID-19 Sector-Specific Re-epidemic Response Measures'... Year-Round Operation of COVID-19 Integrated Call Center
Park Il-ha, mayor of Dongjak District, visited the Dongjak District Health Center in Sangdo-dong, Seoul on the 5th to encourage employees working on emergency COVID-19 duty.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Ilha) has decided to discuss and strengthen quarantine response measures as warning signs are lighting up one by one amid the resurgence of COVID-19.
The district made this decision following the government's announcement on the 8th that COVID-19 has shifted back into a spreading phase due to the spread of the BA.5 variant virus, increased summer mobility, indoor infections, and decreased immunity effects.
Accordingly, the district will implement response measures for the resurgence in various areas, including ▲reinforcement of COVID-19 testing and quarantine personnel ▲encouragement of the 4th vaccination for high-risk groups and infection-vulnerable facilities ▲strengthening quarantine management of multi-use facilities (July to September).
In particular, proactive testing will be conducted focusing on infection-vulnerable facilities such as nursing hospitals and nursing homes. Additionally, the operation of the ‘COVID-19 Respiratory Patient Treatment Centers,’ which can provide one-stop services from testing to treatment despite the increase in COVID-19 patients, will be activated.
The 118 ‘COVID-19 Respiratory Patient Treatment Centers’ in the area capable of professional rapid antigen testing (as of July 8) can be checked on the Dongjak-gu website.
Furthermore, ahead of the full-scale summer vacation season, quarantine management will be strengthened for multi-use facilities such as infection-vulnerable facilities, leisure facilities, and entertainment venues. Guidance and inspections for compliance with daily quarantine rules will be conducted simultaneously.
For other COVID-19 related matters, inquiries can be made to the ‘COVID-19 Administrative Information Center.’ Simple inquiries are automatically guided, and emergency and administrative information can be consulted with professional staff. The consultation operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., 365 days a year.
Meanwhile, the district plans to establish its response plan following the government’s announcement of the ‘specific resurgence response measures’ on the 13th.
Mayor Park Ilha emphasized, “As the number of confirmed cases is increasing daily, we will make thorough preparations for the new resurgence,” and urged, “We ask all residents to remain vigilant and strictly follow personal quarantine rules.”
