[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Health Center of Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that it has launched a program called 'Nok-Nok (knock-knock), Time to Melt My Heart' to support the mental health of its residents.
This program was designed to help early detection of mental illnesses among residents using the local self-sufficiency center and to assist their return to the community by linking counseling and treatment.
The county selected five high-risk individuals for depression among the users of the self-sufficiency center and conducted group art therapy sessions 10 times from April to June to promote mental health.
Participants shared their drawings with others during the art therapy process, fostering understanding and empathy toward themselves and others, and spent time promoting emotional stability.
Jung Myunghee, director of the Health Center, said, “We plan to provide customized welfare services for residents by establishing a cooperative system with related local organizations,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to improve residents' mental health.”
