Local Outstanding Social Economy Enterprises Meet Consumers Directly to Promote Products and Secure Stable Sales Channels
Gyeongju City, Gyeongbuk, held the "4th Social Economy Expo" at the Hwaback Convention Center for three days from the 8th to the 10th.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, held the "4th Social Economy Expo" for three days from the 8th to the 10th at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center.
The purpose was to help excellent local social economy enterprises directly meet consumers, promote their products, and further secure stable sales channels.
This expo featured offline programs such as commemorative events, exhibition halls, and side events, as well as online programs including an expo online tour, online special exhibitions, and shopping live broadcasts.
First, the exhibition hall operated 161 booths dedicated to social economy products, arranged into zones such as Food Zone, Local Zone, Fashion & Beauty Zone, Tech Zone, Eco Zone, and Service Zone.
Next, the promotional hall included a social economy themed exhibition hall and the Gyeongbuk Province Win-Win Cooperation Hall, introducing concepts, current status, history of social economy, policies from 17 government ministries, and Gyeongbuk Province’s social economy revitalization projects.
Additionally, the citizen participation space offered experiential and performance programs and various events for visitors, such as making eco-friendly and upcycled products and experiencing traditional modern games.
Moreover, academic conferences, forums, and policy discussions were held to share social economy research achievements, along with the Best Cooperative Award judging and presentation.
In particular, a public institution purchasing consultation meeting involving over 30 public institutions was held to support social economy enterprises in developing sales channels.
Seo Young-chan, CEO of Oktalab, who participated that day, said, "I am pleased that this social economy expo was held, providing enterprises with an event to pioneer new sales channels and introduce good products. We will continue to do our best to develop good products and grow into a company loved by the region and society."
Joo Nak-young, Mayor of Gyeongju City, urged, "As the slogan 'Social Economy, Opening Tomorrow' suggests, it will play a significant role in realizing various social values, providing jobs for vulnerable groups, and improving residents' quality of life."
