43.4 Billion KRW Spent on Retail and Food Service, Totaling 6.02 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The usage period for the 'Haman-gun Daily Recovery Support Prepaid Card,' which was distributed to all residents of Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province for two months starting in January, has ended.
According to the county, after receiving card usage data from NH Nonghyup Bank from January 28 to June 30, it was confirmed that 6.02 billion KRW, or 98.7% of the 6.1 billion KRW distributed to residents, was actually spent.
The county reported that residents used 4.34 billion KRW, accounting for 72% of the total amount, at retail stores and dining businesses, which are mostly small business operators.
Specifically, 1.7 billion KRW was spent at retail stores such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and grocery stores; 1 billion KRW on dining; 900 million KRW on fuel and vehicle maintenance; and 200 million KRW at hospitals and pharmacies. Support funds were also used in medical, miscellaneous goods, and education sectors.
A county official stated, “The Haman-gun Daily Recovery Support Fund helped fill residents’ shopping baskets and served as a catalyst for the recovery of local small businesses,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to help residents overcome the damages caused by COVID-19 and restore their daily lives.”
