On his way to the Yongsan Presidential Office that morning, President Yoon responded to questions from reporters regarding Lee's disciplinary action by saying, "As a member of the People Power Party myself, I feel regretful."

President Yoon added, "I believe it is not helpful for the president to comment on this matter as the party works to recover and meet the expectations of the people," and "I hope that the party members and supporters will unite their efforts to overcome these difficulties quickly and well."

The People Power Party Central Ethics Committee decided on the morning of the same day to impose a severe disciplinary action of "six months suspension of party membership rights" on Lee, who is suspected of instructing the destruction of evidence related to sexual bribery allegations.

Regarding the Central Ethics Committee's "six-month suspension of party membership rights" disciplinary action against him, Lee stated that he will not step down from his position as leader and intends to respond with full force.
