[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The world-renowned violinist Gidon Kremer is returning to Korea after five years.

On the 7th, the concert planning company Credia announced that Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica will hold a concert in Korea on September 2nd at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Violinist Gidon Kremer, originally from Latvia, gained international recognition by winning 3rd place at the 1967 Queen Elisabeth Competition and 1st place at the 1970 Tchaikovsky International Competition.

Since then, over the course of half a century, he has showcased a broad musical world that transcends limits through various performances.

He is regarded as a performer with a diverse repertoire, actively performing not only classical and Romantic era violin works but also pieces by 20th and 21st-century masters and contemporary composers.

Additionally, in 1997, Gidon Kremer founded the orchestra Kremerata Baltica to nurture young musicians from the three Baltic countries (Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia) and has been engaged in various activities since then.

In this upcoming concert in Korea, Gidon Kremer will take the stage with Kremerata Baltica to perform Arvo P?rt's "Fratres," Schubert's "Winterreise," and "Another Winter Journey," a piece recreated by several contemporary composers inspired by "Winterreise."
