Recruitment of Volunteers for Jangheung Jeongnamjin Water Festival Returning After 3 Years

[Jangheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it is recruiting volunteers to work at the 15th Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival, which will open on the 30th of this month.

The water festival, held for the first time in three years, will take place from the 30th of this month to the 7th of next month at the Tamjin River and the nearby Woodlands of the Hinoki Cypress Forest.

The volunteers being recruited this time will be responsible for program operation, tourist guidance, and environmental cleanup at the water festival site along the Tamjin River during the 9-day festival period.

The total number of recruits is about 1,000, including general volunteers and student volunteers.

Student volunteers will receive recognition for their volunteer hours, participate in the production of the Jangheung-gun Volunteer Center newsletter, and be eligible for awards as outstanding volunteers.

Volunteers who decide to participate will hold a launch ceremony at the Jangheung-gun Citizens' Hall on the 21st, where they will be assigned tasks by field and receive brief preliminary training.

Individuals and groups wishing to participate can apply to the Jangheung-gun Resident Welfare Division by the 15th.

A Jangheung-gun official said, “The kindness and smiles of the volunteers determine the quality of the water festival,” and added, “As this is a representative local festival held for the first time in three years, we will work hard to make it an enjoyable and safe festival together with the volunteers.”
