[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] DL Construction announced on the 7th that it has won the contract for the 'Gasan I-Will Data Center New Construction Project' located in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.

The total construction cost is approximately 300 billion KRW. DL Construction and KT will jointly undertake the project, with DL Construction's share amounting to about 102.8 billion KRW.

The project is scheduled to take place in the Gasan-dong area of Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. The scale includes 5 basement floors to 10 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 36,518㎡. The power supply capacity of the Gasan I-Will Data Center is 40 megawatts (MW), and the IT load is 26 MW.

The construction period is approximately 33 months from the actual start date. KT will be responsible for infrastructure construction within the Gasan I-Will Data Center, and KT Cloud will handle operations. According to DL Construction, following the 'Sangam Data Center New Construction Project' in 2020, this project serves as a stepping stone for their full-scale entry into the data center construction sector.

Along with this contract win, DL Construction signed a 'Strategic Mutual Cooperation (MOU)' with KT Cloud for future data center development projects. Through this MOU, they plan to promote △site discovery △project development △technical cooperation for KT Cloud's own or external IDC (Internet Data Center) development projects. Additionally, DL Construction plans to enhance services such as △IPD △pre-construction △BIM, which they have developed capabilities in through logistics projects, and diversify their business portfolio.

A DL Construction official stated, "This data center contract win is a case that proves our construction technology capabilities and determination in this field," adding, "We will continue to focus on strengthening our data center construction capabilities based on our technology and know-how."
