[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Hansol Paper has actively joined forces with the online platform-based service startup Riu Co., Ltd. to promote the spread of eco-friendly packaging materials.
Hansol Paper announced on the 7th that it participated as the sole strategic investor (SI) in a Series A investment worth approximately 2 billion KRW conducted for Riu.
Founded in 2017, Riu operates platform-based B2B packaging brokerage service "PojangPOS" and franchise packaging online material mall "PojangBOSS," among others.
Riu CEO Kim Dae-gyeon said, "We have established ourselves as the only packaging-specialized B2B platform in Korea," adding, "Through this investment attraction, we will promote infrastructure expansion to lay the foundation for further growth."
A Hansol Paper official stated, "Recently, our eco-friendly packaging products have been receiving increasingly positive responses in the brand market," and expressed expectations that "through collaboration with Riu, which has connections with various food and industrial product packaging demand sources, we will be able to expand the scope of our eco-friendly product lineup."
