"Free SIM" LG Uplus Launches Promotion to Boost Self-Contract Phone Sales with Emart24

An LG Uplus employee is introducing a self-supplied smartphone and a one-chip SIM.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] LG Uplus announced on the 7th that it has partnered with Emart24, which operates over 6,100 stores nationwide, to provide the U+ Altteul Phone shared SIM card called ‘One Chip’ for free and offer gifts upon activation of U+ Altteul Phone plans.

The 'LG U+ Altteul Phone & Emart24 Self-Sufficient Device Joint Promotion,' running until the 25th, is part of the U+ Altteul Phone joint partner program ‘+Alpha’ and is an event aimed at revitalizing the sales of self-sufficient smartphones by small and medium Altteul Phone operators.

LG Uplus will give a free shared SIM One Chip (valued at 8,800 KRW) to all customers who purchase self-sufficient smartphones such as the ‘Galaxy Xcover5’ and ‘Galaxy A53’.

After purchasing a self-sufficient smartphone at Emart24, customers can subscribe to various Altteul Phone plans through the shared SIM operator’s online mall ‘U+ Altteul Phone Partners Homepage’ and 21 other Altteul Phone homepages using the One Chip. Customers who subscribe to a plan during the promotion period will additionally receive five Starbucks coupons.

Furthermore, customers who join during the event period can participate in the U+ Altteul Phone Partners exclusive affiliated card discount event. By issuing the affiliated Samsung Card and paying communication fees with it, customers can receive a monthly communication fee discount of up to 22,000 KRW the following month, depending on the previous month’s card usage performance.

Meanwhile, LG Uplus plans to sell a collaboration snack named ‘One Chip,’ borrowed from the name of the U+ Altteul Phone shared SIM ‘One Chip,’ nationwide at Emart24 stores starting at the end of this month. The shared SIM One Chip sales have also expanded beyond Emart24 to Baedal Minjok’s ‘B Mart.’
