CU, Short-Form Drama Convenience Store Veteran 'Popular'... Surpasses 16 Million Cumulative Views Short-form drama presented by CU, Convenience Store Veteran.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] CU announced on the 7th that its short-form drama 'Convenience Store Go-inmul,' the first of its kind produced in the convenience store industry, has recorded a cumulative 16 million views across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok channels within ten days. This is the fastest and highest number of views ever.


'Convenience Store Go-inmul' is a 20-episode drama created in collaboration with the comprehensive content studio Playlist. Since the 27th of last month, new episodes have been released daily from Monday to Friday on CU's official YouTube channel 'CU Tube,' as well as on Instagram, TikTok, and Playlist's Shortfli channel.


The drama comically depicts the daily life stories experienced by Haru, a CU staff member with nine years of part-time work experience. It portrays entertaining stories that anyone who is a convenience store customer can relate to, tailored to the cultural codes of the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z).


The view count of 'Convenience Store Go-inmul' is 22 times higher than other shorts content on CU Tube, and the content's social media response index (PIS), which measures direct viewer reactions, has reached approximately 600,000. The overall monthly average views of CU Tube increased by 391% compared to before the drama aired, and the number of new subscribers rose by more than 20,000 in a short period. The total cumulative views of CU Tube surged from 28 million to 39 million.


Among the seven contents uploaded so far, the episode 'Part-timer's Empathy When Ideal Customers Arrive' has recorded the highest views at about 3.4 million, followed by 'Novice Store Manager and Go-inmul Part-timer' with 2.3 million views, and 'The Appearance of Murderer Kim Si-woo' with 2 million views.


A BGF Retail official said, "We are enhancing the enjoyment of customers using CU by producing short-form content tailored to the tastes of the MZ generation, who are the main users of convenience stores. We will continue to actively discover trendy content through collaboration with various studios."
