Jeonnam Education Superintendent Transition Committee to 'Reconsider' 15 Projects of Jeonnam Office of Education Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Transition Committee spokesperson Kim Hak-joo held the 3rd regular briefing at the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 6th and announced the pledge implementation plan.

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Among the more than 40 major projects of the 3rd term of the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education's resident direct election, 15 projects are expected to be reconsidered or improved.

On the 6th, the Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Transition Committee held the 3rd regular briefing and announced a policy to fully review and improve some of the existing projects of the 3rd term of the resident direct election.

Spokesperson Kim Hak-joo stated at the briefing, "The transition committee is in the process of establishing a pledge implementation plan, carefully reviewing to enhance the executive branch's understanding of the pledges and to realize the pledges promptly," and added, "During the discussion process, 16 development tasks were presented, including projects not proposed as pledges by Superintendent Kim Dae-jung."

He continued, "After analyzing more than 40 major projects of the 3rd term of the resident direct election, based on the work report contents, opinions will be presented classifying 15 projects into improvement projects and review projects," and added, "This is the opinion of the transition committee to be delivered to the superintendent, not the opinion of Superintendent Kim Dae-jung."

The transition committee plans to improve the Youth Future Challenge Project and rural agricultural and fishing village study programs to have practical effects at schools.

Spokesperson Kim explained, "The Youth Future Challenge Project, which had been operated by affiliated institutions, will be directly operated by the headquarters to become a brand of Jeonnam education and continue its achievements," and "The rural agricultural and fishing village study program will be improved from a simple experiential type to a residential type where families live together."

The Creative Convergence Education Center and integrated operation schools will be revised and supplemented through reconsideration.

Spokesperson Kim said, "During the work report process, the executive branch also mentioned the need for improvement of the Creative Convergence Education Center. There is an opinion that instead of installing it all at once in 22 cities and counties, it should be installed by region and reflect local characteristics."

Regarding integrated operation schools, he added, "Since the elementary and secondary education curricula are different, some parts proceeded without evaluation or analysis before legal grounds were established. Integrated operation schools require careful review. However, there is a consensus to proceed with schools that have decided on integration."

He then emphasized, "The 4th term of the resident direct election will inherit policies and projects that the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has done well so far, and innovate projects and policies that have not worked well," and "Based on the principles of inheritance and innovation, we will create a great transformation in Jeonnam education through careful review."
