Exhibition of 37 Works by 13 Jinju Artists at Lee Seongja Art Museum Until the 10th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 6th, Jo Gyu-il, mayor of Jinju, visited the Jinju Municipal Lee Sung-ja Art Museum to view the special exhibition of artists from Jinju titled ‘Hoihwasorok (繪?小錄)’ and encouraged the exhibition staff.
Organized by Jinjumok Cultural Sarangbang and supported by Jinju City with cooperation from Namgaram Museum, this special exhibition showcases works by 13 artists who shaped the Jinju art scene and contributed to the development of art history.
Opened on the 27th of last month and running until the 10th of this month, ‘Hoihwasorok’ holds great significance as it closely examines the formation and development process of the local art scene.
This exhibition is divided into sections including ▲the introduction of Western painting and the formation of the local art scene ▲the establishment of art groups and the settlement of the art community ▲the Yeongnam Art Festival ▲exchange with the central art scene and acceptance of overseas contemporary art, featuring 37 works. Visitors can also view the Jinju art chronology and archives (records).
Mayor Jo Gyu-il stated, “We plan to provide opportunities for citizens to easily access and appreciate artworks through various exhibitions,” adding, “We will continue efforts to attract the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Jinju branch.”
