[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam, has installed smart national point number plates at 25 locations on Bultaesan hiking trails for the safety of residents and tourists.
According to the county on the 6th, the national point number is a location indication system that divides the entire national territory into a grid of 10m by 10m horizontally and vertically. It was devised to easily indicate locations in areas without buildings such as mountains and rivers and to report the exact location in case of emergencies.
The number plates include a national point number composed of a 10-digit combination of letters and numbers, along with a QR code.
When the QR code is scanned with a smartphone camera, the national point number for that location is automatically entered and can be sent to the fire station (119).
A county official said, "We plan to expand the installation of national point number plates mainly on major hiking trails in the area," adding, "We expect that rapid rescue and support activities will be possible in case of emergencies."
Meanwhile, in May, Jangseong conducted a comprehensive survey of 27 national point number plates installed around Bangjangsan and Byeongpungsan to check for loss, suitability of installation locations, and labeling errors.
