Director Han Jae-rim, who attracted 9.13 million viewers with the film "The Face Reader" (2013) and 5.31 million with "The King" (2016), which depicted the bare face behind power, focuses on universal events in special situations and special stories within universal realities through "Emergency Declaration."
Opening on the 3rd of next month, "Emergency Declaration" tells the story of a plane that declares an unconditional landing due to an unprecedented aviation terror and the people confronting the disaster.
Director Han has been planning this film for over ten years. Through three rounds of storyboard work, he incorporated detailed directorial intentions into every line of dialogue and stage direction. The film was invited to the non-competitive section of the 74th Cannes Film Festival, receiving favorable reviews. Attention is focused on whether the realistic empathy and urgency will be well conveyed to domestic audiences.
