[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] It is the victory of Xander Schauffele (USA), the "Tokyo Olympics Gold" medalist.

On the 6th (Korean time), at the Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort (Par 72) in Limerick, Ireland, Schauffele added 2-under par on the second day of the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour) unofficial event JP McManus Pro-Am to complete a one-stroke victory (10-under par 134). His 8-under par performance the previous day was the driving force behind his win. The JP McManus Pro-Am is played in a format where one professional player teams up with three amateurs.

Schauffele started with a three-stroke lead and recorded three birdies (one bogey). After a birdie on the 3rd hole (par 4) was canceled out by a bogey on the 4th hole (par 3), he made "stepping stone birdies" on the 5th and 7th holes. He then made pars on the remaining 11 holes. Schauffele continued his momentum after securing his second win of the season and sixth career victory at the PGA Tour Travelers Championship on the 27th of last month. He perfectly completed a rehearsal for the final major, The Open, scheduled for the 14th.

Sam Burns (USA) swept in eight birdies (one bogey) to finish as runner-up (9-under par 135). Shane Lowry (Ireland) took third place (8-under par 136), Tyrrell Hatton (England) was fourth (7-under par 137), and Padraig Harrington (Ireland) placed fifth (6-under par 138). Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), a "PGA Tour retainee," posted 4-under par to jump to a tie for sixth place (5-under par 139). Justin Thomas (USA) was also in this group.

On the other hand, LIV Golf players Brooks Koepka tied for 9th place (4-under par 140), Dustin Johnson tied for 13th (3-under par 141), and Bryson DeChambeau (all USA) finished tied for 23rd (1-under par 143). Tiger Woods (USA), the "Golf Emperor," who returned to the field after withdrawing from the major PGA Championship in May, finished the tournament tied for 39th place (7-over par 151), losing two strokes. He expressed his feelings, saying, "It was a very enjoyable time with many spectators."
