Geumcheon-gu Holds Strategy Report Meeting on May 5 for Implementing Promises of the 8th Elected Term Explaining the Direction of District Administration and Purpose of Promises · Presents 3 Major Goals, 5 Key Areas, and 63 Promises
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) opened the era of "Forward-moving Geumcheon, Proud Geumcheon" for the 8th term of the elected government at the '8th Term Elected Government Pledge Implementation Strategy Report Meeting' held on the 5th.
Geumcheon-gu held the report meeting immediately after starting the 8th term of the elected government to prioritize the pledges first. This contrasts with the usual process of receiving plans from working departments and then promoting the pledge execution. The purpose is for the mayor to thoroughly oversee the process to ensure that the pledges are not reduced or distorted during the planning stage.
At the meeting, Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu directly explained the "8th Term Elected Government Administration Direction and the Purpose of the Pledges."
Mayor Yu set the vision for the 8th term as "Forward-moving Geumcheon, Proud Geumcheon Era," presenting three main goals: ▲ A city that leaps forward together with me ▲ An education and culture city ▲ A happy city for everyone regardless of age or gender. He also carefully explained the purpose and direction of 63 projects across five major areas: urban infrastructure, education and culture, welfare and health, economic revitalization, and family and sustainable environment. Following this, strategic reports for achieving the pledges by each department were conducted.
Geumcheon-gu plans to fully complete the pledges by 2025, the 30th anniversary of the district's establishment. Additionally, it will discover Geumcheon's unique identity to create a differentiated image from other cities, develop attractive spaces applying urban design in areas with high foot traffic, and strengthen Geumcheon's competitiveness by introducing urban branding techniques.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu emphasized, "It is important to create the district's unique identity based on Geumcheon's strengths and characteristics," adding, "Along with external development as a gateway city, we must also cultivate soft power such as the spread of village democracy and the restoration of community."
