Sacheon Mayor Park Dongsik's First Move After Inauguration: Visit to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI)

Inspection of KF-21 Production Line, Space Center, and Key Aerospace Industry Sites and Facilities

Mayor Park Dong-sik is visiting Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to receive a briefing on the current status.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 5th, Park Dong-sik, who was inaugurated as the 11th mayor of Sacheon, had his first meeting with Ahn Hyun-ho, CEO of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), a representative company of Sacheon City.

This meeting is interpreted as Mayor Park's first field visit after his inauguration, demonstrating his strong determination for the early establishment of the Aerospace Administration and the promotion of the aerospace industry.

Mayor Park inspected the company introduction along with key sites and facilities leading Korea's aerospace industry, such as the fixed-wing KF-21 production line and the Space Center.

Mayor Park and CEO Ahn Hyun-ho agreed to mutually cooperate in fostering the local aerospace industry alongside the early establishment of the Aerospace Administration.

Since his candidacy, Mayor Park has shown special affection and interest in the local aerospace industry, making the early establishment of the Aerospace Administration one of his core pledges.

Through his inauguration ceremony, he announced his intention to form a dedicated support team for the Aerospace Administration installation, providing maximum support for infrastructure necessary for the prompt establishment of the Aerospace Administration, including temporary office buildings, housing support, and provision of planned establishment sites.

Mayor Park Dong-sik said, “The long-cherished hope of establishing the Aerospace Administration in Sacheon is becoming visible, and the city’s main industry, the aerospace industry, is entering a turning point for revolutionary development. As a sales-oriented mayor, I will carry out hands-on administration to lead the future of the city through the development of the aerospace industry.”

Sacheon City plans to devote all efforts to fostering the aerospace industry under the city administration goal of “A New Start, Happy City Sacheon” and the policy of “Aerospace Future Leap.”
