GC Green Cross Wellbeing Attends Korean Society of Food Science and Technology International Conference... "Presentation of Respiratory Patent Probiotic Research Results"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] GC Green Cross Wellbeing announced on the 5th that it will participate in the '2022 Korean Society of Food Science and Technology International Conference' held at BEXCO in Busan from the 6th to the 8th.

At this conference, GC Green Cross Wellbeing will give a presentation on the topic of 'The Importance of Respiratory Immune Balance and Probiotic Supplementation, Emphasized More After the COVID-19 Pandemic.' Along with this, the company plans to disclose research results on the patented respiratory probiotic strain 'GCWB1001,' which has been independently researched and developed over four years.

GCWB1001 is a 'Lactobacillus plantarum' strain isolated from kimchi. Animal experiment results related to this strain's effect in alleviating respiratory allergies or asthma caused by fine dust were published in 2020 in the SCI-level international journal 'Life.' The strain has also completed domestic patent registration and international patent application (PCT).

Kim Jae-won, head of the Comprehensive Research Institute at GC Green Cross Wellbeing, stated, "Along with improving kidney function and enhancing immune function, we are actively verifying the functional effects of our independently developed probiotics in preventing respiratory diseases caused by fine dust."

GC Green Cross Wellbeing is preparing to launch a new product, 'Providence Sum Malgeun Probiotics,' under its probiotic specialty brand 'PROVIDENCE,' which contains the GCWB1001 strain. This is the first time a product containing a patented respiratory probiotic strain is being released in Korea.
