Biden on Independence Day: "US Founded on the Idea of Equality"

He said, "America is one belief," and "a belief stronger than any army, greater than any sea, and more powerful than any dictator or tyrant." He also stated, "It gives hope to the most desperate on earth, ensures everyone is treated with dignity, and offers no safe harbor to hatred," emphasizing, "It instills the belief that no matter where your life begins, you can achieve it through effort."

Former U.S. presidents also released messages. Former President Donald Trump criticized the Biden administration on his social media platform Truth Social, which he created, saying, "Our country does not look good right now." He pointed to soaring inflation, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the stock market, claiming, "If I were president, none of these terrible things would have happened."

Former President Barack Obama tweeted, "As we celebrate today, let's thank our military and their families who have dedicated themselves to our country." He mentioned, "Let's recommit to the fight for democracy," and said, "There is still much work to be done to complete our unity."

Former President Bill Clinton also retweeted his past statement on Twitter that day, saying, "Our democracy should be not only the envy of the world but also the driving force for our own renewal. There is no problem in America that cannot be healed by what is right about America."
