[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] iWIN announced on the 4th that it will actively work to reassess its corporate value.
iWIN decided to acquire its own shares to stabilize its stock price and enhance shareholder value. On the 22nd, it disclosed that it would acquire treasury shares worth 3 billion KRW with confidence in future growth. iWIN judged that its asset value, approximately 170 billion KRW, is undervalued in the market. Considering contracts with overseas automakers, it also expects operational value to be added.
To lead the future automotive industry, iWIN is investing in developing new technologies together with its subsidiaries. Moving beyond being a supplier of automotive parts such as seat heaters, ventilated seats, heated steering wheels, and electronic control units (ECU), it is actively expanding related businesses including image sensors and the autonomous driving market.
iWIN Plus is a specialized company in chip scale package (CSP) technology for optical sensors, holding patented technology in the image sensor packaging field. It is developing high-resolution sensors applied to advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) sensing cameras and around-view sensing cameras. It also holds patented technology capable of ultra-compact packaging of quantum random number generators (QRNG), a core component of quantum cryptography security technology.
Artificial intelligence (AI) sensor technology is also gaining attention as a future growth engine. Pronics' AI sensor is the world's first sensor that can generate voice signals using resonance. Compared to conventional microphones, it can detect sounds from up to 8 times farther away and deliver voice signals up to 22 times clearer.
Growth in the bio power generation business is also anticipated. eWell operates an eco-friendly combined heat and power plant that regenerates electricity or thermal energy by combusting bio SRF fuel.
Shin Gyu-jin, Chairman of iWIN, said, "The portfolio for leading the future automotive industry has entered its completion stage," adding, "We will focus more on stabilizing the stock price and enhancing shareholder value through corporate value reassessment based on full-scale achievements."
Recently, iWIN succeeded in raising 17 billion KRW for new businesses aimed at entering the autonomous driving market. As it accelerates its entry into the future car market, it expects synergy effects among its affiliates, including Pronics, a subsidiary with AI voice recognition technology, and iWIN Plus, a specialized company in image sensor packaging.
