[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] SK Telecom announced on the 4th that it will hold a special exhibition "Mustard Blue: Forest of Greed" by the artist group "TEAMBOTTA" on the metaverse platform "ifland".
TEAMBOTTA is a group of "botanical artists" who present installation art themed on nature using real flowers and trees.
The special exhibition was planned to provide visitors with an experience of healing their minds by reflecting on the human emotion of "탐" (貪·greed) and themselves through the forest, TEAMBOTTA explained.
The special exhibition has been held offline since March this year at Galleria Foret in Seoul Forest, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. SK Telecom reported that it has attracted more than 50,000 visitors, gaining popularity mainly among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z, born between the 1980s and 2000s).
On ifland, visitors can enjoy a total of 52 types of content including representative works, phrases, and videos from the offline exhibition. The ifland exhibition started on the 29th of last month and will be open until August 20th this year, just like the offline exhibition period.
During the special exhibition period, Yang Jun-bo, the general director of exhibition planning at TEAMBOTTA, will personally access ifland to run a docent program introducing the works and sharing behind-the-scenes stories. The program will be held four times in total at 8 PM on July 6th, 20th, and August 3rd, 17th.
T-membership members who share a certification shot of participating in the ifland exhibition on social networking services (SNS) can receive a 60% discount on the offline exhibition admission ticket, which costs 26,000 KRW (adult price).
Yang Maeng-seok, head of SK Telecom’s Metaverse Company (CO), said, "We will continue to showcase trendy exhibitions on ifland in the future."
Meanwhile, SK Telecom will first present the exhibition "Urban Break 2022," themed on subcultures such as graffiti and webtoons, on ifland from the 11th. This exhibition will open at COEX in Seoul on the 21st.
