Foreigners' Selling Turns Domestic Stock Market Down... KOSPI at Risk Below 2300 Level [Image source=Yonhap News]

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The KOSPI index, which had been on the rise, turned downward during the session due to foreign investors' selling pressure.


As of 9:51 a.m. on the 4th, the KOSPI index stood at 2301.89, down 3.53 points (0.15%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 2310.73, up 5.31 points (0.23%) from the previous day, showing an upward trend driven by buying from individuals and institutions. However, it reversed to a decline due to foreign investors' selling. Foreign investors net sold about 106.8 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions net bought about 8.6 billion KRW and 96.9 billion KRW, respectively.


At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was recorded at 727.99, down 1.49 points (0.20%) from the previous trading day. Foreign investors led the decline by net selling about 52.1 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions net bought about 50.6 billion KRW and 1.5 billion KRW, respectively.
