Heatwave Warning in Most Areas of Seoul... Some Areas in Sejong, Gyeonggi, and Jeonbuk Also Affected

Fermentation in Areas with a Perceived Temperature Above 35 Degrees

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Heatwave warnings have been issued for most areas of Seoul, Sejong, and parts of Gyeonggi and Jeonbuk provinces.

The Korea Meteorological Administration upgraded the heatwave advisory to a heatwave warning from 3 PM on the 3rd for southeastern, southwestern, and northwestern Seoul, Sejong, Chungnam (Hongseong, Buyeo), Gyeonggi-do (Seongnam, Siheung), and Jeollabuk-do (Sunchang, Jeonju, Jeongeup, Iksan, Wanju).

The southeastern, southwestern, and northwestern areas of Seoul include Songpa-gu, Gangnam-gu, Seocho-gu, Gangdong-gu (southeastern area), Gangseo-gu, Gwanak-gu, Yangcheon-gu, Guro-gu, Dongjak-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Geumcheon-gu (southwestern area), and Eunpyeong-gu, Mapo-gu, Seodaemun-gu, Yongsan-gu, Jongno-gu, Jung-gu (northwestern area).

A heatwave warning is issued when the highest perceived temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius for two or more consecutive days or when significant damage from heat is expected. A heatwave advisory was issued for the northeastern area including Nowon-gu.

Currently, heatwave warnings are in effect for Sejong, Daegu, Gwangju, Gyeongsangnam-do (Yangsan, Hapcheon, Changnyeong), Gyeongsangbuk-do, Jeollanam-do (Hwasun, Naju, Damyang), Chungcheongbuk-do (except Boeun), Chungcheongnam-do (Hongseong, Buyeo), Gangwon-do (southern mountainous areas, Samcheok plain, Hongcheon plain, Gangneung plain, Chuncheon, Hwacheon), Gyeonggi-do (Yeoju, Seongnam, Gapyeong, Yangpyeong, Gwangju, Anseong, Icheon, Yongin, Siheung), and Jeollabuk-do (Sunchang, Jeonju, Jeongeup, Iksan, Wanju).
