30 Stores This Year, Targeting 300 Stores Within 5 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Emart24 announced on the 3rd that it has opened its 20th store following the opening of its first store in Malaysia in June last year.
This store opened at Mitsui Outlet Park located on the outskirts of the local metropolitan area, and plans to increase to 30 stores by the end of this year and up to 300 stores within the next five years.
Emart24 Malaysia is gaining favorable responses from local customers by introducing unique concept stores not only in residential commercial areas but also in offices, university districts, and tourist spots. Additionally, with a K-food strategy that harmonizes well with local products, it is recognized not as a convenience store but as a trendy restaurant or cafe, establishing itself as a hot place.
According to Emart24 Malaysia data, sales of ready-to-eat foods including K-food such as cup rice, tteokbokki, dakgangjeong, bingsu, and triangular gimbap account for 51% of total product sales. The 'I-Presso' coffee, made with the same beans and machines as in South Korea and served freshly, as well as Emart24’s self-developed product line (PL product) ‘I'm e’, are also receiving great responses.
An Emart24 official said, "We are continuously expanding according to plan with the opening of the 20th store in Malaysia," adding, "We are receiving great responses from local customers through upscale and trendy stores and K-food in various commercial areas."
