[Today's Weather] Heatwave Warnings Across Most of the Country... Daytime Highs Up to 36°C

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] On Sunday the 3rd, heatwave warnings were issued for most regions nationwide.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the highest daytime temperatures are forecasted to be between 29 and 36 degrees Celsius, with the highest apparent temperatures rising to 33 to 35 degrees Celsius, making it very hot. Many places will also experience tropical nights, where the lowest nighttime temperature remains above 25 degrees Celsius.

On this day, the sky will be occasionally cloudy nationwide, with Jeju Island and the southern coastal areas expected to be cloudy.

In most inland areas nationwide, showers accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, and lightning are expected, with rainfall amounts ranging from 5 to 40 mm.

Additionally, due to the influence of Typhoon Aere (No. 4) moving northward, the eastern, southern, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island will receive 10 to 50 mm of rain from daytime on this day until the morning of the day after tomorrow, while the northern and western parts of Jeju Island and the southern coastal areas will occasionally see 5 to 30 mm of rain from evening on this day until early morning of the day after tomorrow.

Fine dust concentrations will be at 'Good' to 'Moderate' levels across all regions. Until morning, dense fog with visibility less than 200 meters is expected mainly in the central west coast, northern inland Gyeonggi, northern inland Gangwon, and mountainous areas, and fog with visibility less than 1 km is expected mainly in other central inland areas, so caution is advised for traffic safety.

Strong winds and high waves are expected in the southern offshore waters of Jeju Island and the eastern offshore waters of the South Sea, so vessels engaged in navigation or fishing should exercise special caution. As swells enter the coasts of Jeju Island and the South Sea, high waves may strongly surge onto sandy beaches or overflow rocky shores, so coastal safety accidents should be avoided.

Wave heights in the nearshore waters will be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea. In the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are predicted to be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East and West Seas, and 1.0 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
