Presentation of Plaques and Incentives to Outstanding Improvement Leaders

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] POSCO Pohang Steelworks held the '48th QSS Improvement Leader Performance Sharing Meeting' on the 30th of last month at the headquarters' main conference hall, spreading a culture of innovation excellence within the steelworks.
QSS is POSCO's unique on-site innovation method that identifies and improves waste and risk factors occurring in the field. On this day, about 190 people, including Lee Baek-hee, Pohang Steelworks Director, and Lee Bon-seok, Labor-Management Council Representative, attended to present and award six outstanding project cases.
A total of 89 48th QSS Improvement Leaders discovered improvement tasks within the steelworks during the four-month activity period and improved them to eliminate safety and environmental hazards at the work sites.
On this day, six excellent activity cases were presented from the Quality Technology Department, Ironmaking Department, Steelmaking Department, Wire Rod Department, Stainless Steel Rolling Department, and Equipment Technology Department. Commemorative plaques and a certain amount of encouragement money were awarded to the outstanding improvement leaders.
Lee Baek-hee, Director of Pohang Steelworks, said, “Improvement leader activities are a process where team members actively discuss and solve difficult tasks at hand,” adding, “I hope everyone actively participates in improvement activities by applying the methodologies gained through improvement leader activities on-site.”
