[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Former Emergency Committee Chairperson of the Democratic Party, Park Ji-hyun, broke her silence a month after the disbandment of the emergency committee and appeared at an official event. Regarding her candidacy for the party leadership election scheduled for August, she responded, "I will announce my position soon."

On the 1st, former Chairperson Park attended the 'Greenbelt Results Sharing Party' held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building. 'Greenbelt' is an organization formed by young candidates from the Democratic Party who ran in the June 1 local elections. The event was attended by young politicians who ran in the local elections, as well as lawmakers Jeong Cheong-rae, Choi Hye-young, and Lee Tan-hee.

Appearing with a bright face and casual attire, former Chairperson Park said before the event started, "I was invited to the Greenbelt meeting today and came here," adding, "Since this event is for those involved in youth politics and those who ran in the local elections, I hope you focus more on the meeting than on me."

When asked about her recent activities, she replied, "I rested well," and added, "I went home, read books, and traveled."

Regarding questions about running for the party leadership election, she stated, "I will announce my position separately soon," and added, "There are parts I am still considering, but after finishing this event well, I will announce my position within a short time."

Before the party leadership election scheduled for August 28, the registration deadline for candidates for party leader and supreme council members is expected to be on the 17th of this month.
