[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Independent lawmaker Min Hyung-bae stated on the 1st regarding his return to the Democratic Party, "I will leave it to the leadership," adding, "I hope no one mentions it during the party convention process."

On the same day, Min said through social media (SNS), "There is an attempt to make my return to the Democratic Party an issue ahead of the party convention."

He said, "What is important for the Democratic Party now is to establish a capable leadership through the August 28 convention," adding, "I do not want my status to cause unnecessary noise at the party convention at all."

Regarding the amendment bills to the Prosecutors' Office Act and the Criminal Procedure Act, passed in the plenary session on April 30, known as the "prosecution reform" or "complete withdrawal of prosecution powers," he said, "Out of 177 participants in the vote, 172 voted in favor, 3 opposed, and 2 abstained. All Democratic Party lawmakers supported the bill," adding, "No matter what you say about my withdrawal/return, if you are a Democratic Party lawmaker, please do not deny this bill yourself. I also hope you will abandon the mistaken judgment that opposing my return will gain votes."

He continued, "I accept that both lawmakers opposing my return and those advocating for it have spoken out of loyalty to the party."
