Sejong Cyber University to Hold Special Lecture on 'Utilizing Metaverse in Korean Language Education' on the 5th of Next Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Sejong Cyber University will hold a special lecture on "Utilization of Metaverse in Korean Language Education" for prospective and current Korean language teachers through a video conferencing platform at 8 p.m. on the 5th of next month.

This special lecture is open to the general public as well as current students. The lecture will be given by Professor Park Jincheol of the Korean Language Department.

Professor Yoon Kyungwon of Sejong Cyber University's Korean Language Department stated, "As the ecosystem of Korean language and culture education is rapidly changing centered on the MZ generation, known as digital natives, there are many areas where Korean language teachers from the digital immigrant generation need to respond quickly."

He added, "In particular, since gamification of teaching and learning activities is possible through the metaverse, it is expected to have high educational utility in terms of learners' interest and concentration."

Sejong Cyber University was selected as an excellent (A grade) university by receiving the highest rating in the Ministry of Education's 2020 remote university accreditation and competency diagnosis. The Korean Language Department supports the re-education of teachers at overseas Sejong Institutes and Korean language schools through agreements with the Sejong Institute Foundation and the Overseas Koreans Foundation, centered on an excellent faculty.
