[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hanwha Life Insurance announced on the 1st that it has acquired the international standard for environmental management systems, 'ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System),' from the Korea Management Certification Institute as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
‘ISO 14001,’ established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is a standard that sets specific goals for companies to practice environmental management and regulates systematic management of these goals.
To obtain this certification, Hanwha Life Insurance has been preparing an eco-friendly management system that complies with international standards since the beginning of this year. They established a process for preemptive management to comply with environmental laws and regulations and also developed an environmental management manual.
Additionally, they trained internal auditors in each department to build an eco-friendly management system capable of self-diagnosis and evaluation. They also set concrete environmental improvement goals, such as digitalizing the sales environment through the provision of mobile terms and conditions.
