[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] On the 1st, KT announced that it has decided to jointly promote a digital transformation (DX) project in the medical field with Bundang Seoul National University Hospital to build a medical environment capable of providing cutting-edge public medical services and to lead future hospitals.
The Ministry of Science and ICT called for national projects to establish the I-eum 5G (5G specialized network) infrastructure and industrial ecosystem and to discover 5G convergence service models in the public sector. Among them, the KT and Bundang Seoul National University Hospital consortium was selected as the project operator in the medical DX field.
In this project, the KT and Bundang Seoul National University Hospital consortium will first build the I-eum 5G convergence service, the first of its kind in domestic hospitals, to improve the quality of services in the public medical sector and work together to establish a world-class cutting-edge hospital.
In particular, KT will be responsible for the design optimized for I-eum 5G at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital and the efficient construction and operation of convergence services, and will provide ICT convergence consulting for building a cutting-edge hospital.
Additionally, the KT and Bundang Seoul National University Hospital consortium plans to discover industry-academia cooperation models to ensure that medical DX can be promoted and completed from a long-term perspective, and also to pursue overseas business expansion.
