[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte ON is returning 2.5 billion KRW of dormant money to customers. According to Lotte ON on the 1st, Lotte ON will hold the 'Sleeping Forest Refund' event throughout July. During the event period, a refund confirmation and return application venue will be operated where customers can check and claim their expected refund amounts. Additionally, simply checking the presence or absence of refund amounts will enter customers into a draw to win prizes.
As of the end of June, Lotte ON holds approximately 2.5 billion KRW in expected refunds for about 200,000 customers. These expected refunds have accumulated through operating the online malls of Lotte.com, Lotte Mart, and Lotte Super. When customers return products after purchase, they receive cash-equivalent points for various reasons, but these amounts have not yet been used. The average refund amount per eligible customer is about 12,000 KRW.
Customers who want to check their expected refund amounts can access Lotte ON, go to the event page, and click the ‘Check Refund’ button. If there is an expected refund, the amount will be displayed, and customers can proceed to a page to enter the account for receiving the refund. Once the return application is completed, the refund will be deposited into the designated account within 1-2 business days.
Lotte ON plans to notify customers holding expected refunds through various channels so they can claim their refunds during the event period. Customers will be guided on how to claim refunds via KakaoTalk messages, emails, and pop-up windows. The event introduction and refund check methods will also be promoted through Lotte ON’s official social media channels such as Instagram and YouTube.
Choi Hyunjung, Head of Brand Content at Lotte ON, said, "We planned this event so that customers can reclaim their forgotten expected refunds, and during the month-long event, we will promote it through various content to help as many customers as possible claim their refunds." She added, "We hope this campaign provides an opportunity to find dormant refunds and use them for reasonable consumption."
