[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Province Governor Transition Committee has finalized the vision, strategies, and policy tasks that Governor-elect Kim Dong-yeon will pursue.
On the 30th, the Transition Committee held a comprehensive briefing session and finalized the '3 Major Visions, 11 Strategies, and 120 Policy Tasks,' which were delivered to Governor-elect Kim.
The 120 policy tasks were selected under the three major goals of 'More Opportunities, More Equitable Opportunities, Better Opportunities' to realize the slogan 'Gyeonggi Province Full of Opportunities.'
Under the goal of 'Better Opportunities,' tasks include ▲ rapid redevelopment of 1st and 2nd phase new towns and aging areas ▲ unwavering promotion of the extension and establishment of the Metropolitan Express Railway (GTX) ▲ creation of a startup ecosystem, among others.
Under the goal of 'More Equitable Opportunities,' tasks include ▲ preparation of the vision and blueprint for the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province ▲ realization of five major rights through Gyeonggi Youth Chance ▲ elimination of healthcare disparities between regions.
Under the goal of 'Better Opportunities,' tasks include ▲ promotion of election law revision to introduce the majoritarian electoral system ▲ support for stable creative activities of cultural and artistic professionals ▲ strengthening digital capabilities and response systems in firefighting and disaster administration, respectively.
In addition to the 120 policy tasks, the Transition Committee plans to separately include the 'New Future Agriculture Provincial Tasks' prepared by the Future Agriculture and Fisheries Task Force in the Transition Committee white paper.
The 120 policy tasks will be finally confirmed as a 'Pledge Implementation Plan' after discussions with the provincial executive branch and consultations with the citizen jury panel.
Meanwhile, the Transition Committee attempted to establish a Special Committee on Solidarity and Cooperation to involve members of the People Power Party, but the party notified its non-participation, causing the task of 'promoting reasonable pledges or common pledges proposed by the opposing candidate,' which was to be handled by the special committee, to be canceled and thus not concretely included in the policy tasks.
