[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Prosecutors have been resigning one after another following the first regular personnel reshuffle of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.

According to the legal community on the 30th, Lee Hye-eun, chief prosecutor in charge of investigation publicity at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Judicial Research and Training Institute class 33), announced her resignation on the internal prosecution network, stating, "Due to personal reasons, I wish to leave the beloved prosecution."

She said, "The years I spent as part of the prosecution family were precious every moment, and I was truly happy during every moment we shared. Although I am leaving physically, my heart will remain with the prosecution, and I will always support and contribute to it from outside."

Chief Prosecutor Lee was appointed in 2004 as a prosecutor at the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office Goyang Branch and worked as a prosecutor in the Ministry of Justice's National Litigation Division, deputy chief prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and chief of the Criminal Division 1 at the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Pyeongtaek Branch. She was also dispatched to the Constitutional Court and the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office Special Litigation Team, earning a Level 2 Certified Specialist Prosecutor certification, known as the 'Blue Belt,' in the field of national litigation.

Since last year, she has served as the public relations officer of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, the largest prosecution office nationwide, handling publicity for major cases including the 'Daejang-dong Development Suspicion' and the 'Deutsche Motors Stock Price Manipulation Suspicion.'

Ko Jin-won (class 33), head of the Fair Trade Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, also expressed his intention to resign on the same day. Prosecutor Ko posted on the internal network, "There are many jokes about what the worst nightmare is, but for me, the worst nightmare was 'a dream where I am not a prosecutor.' Just being a prosecutor was enough to fill my heart with pride."

Prosecutor Ko was appointed in 2004 as a prosecutor at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office and served as a research prosecutor at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, head of the trial division at the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, and chief of the Sokcho Branch of the Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office. Since last year, he has been leading the Fair Trade Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, investigating cases such as the Samsung Welstory case suspected of preferentially awarding meal service contracts to affiliates and the chicken price-fixing case involving chicken manufacturing and sales companies like Harim and Olpum.

In addition, Kim Jae-ha, head of human rights planning at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office (class 31), and Lim Dae-hyuk, chief of the Criminal Division 13 at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (class 32), also expressed their intention to resign.
