LX Semicon, First Domestic Fabless Company to Disclose ESG Activity Performance President Son Bo-ik of LX Semicon


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] On the 30th, LX Semicon became the first domestic fabless company to publish a sustainability management report.


The report includes LX Semicon's ESG vision and initiatives established this year, major ESG activities and achievements from last year, and disclosures based on international standards.


LX Semicon has set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Although LX Semicon, as a fabless company, is not subject to the mandatory "Greenhouse Gas Target Management System," it plans to voluntarily participate in carbon neutrality by promoting various improvement activities. In particular, it plans to participate in K-RE100 (Korean Renewable Energy Initiative) in the future to replace 100% of its electricity consumption with renewable energy.


Additionally, LX Semicon plans to establish an "ESG Committee" within the year to accelerate ESG management and ensure transparency in corporate governance. The ESG Committee will establish basic policies and strategies in the ESG field and review medium- to long-term goals.


Earlier, LX Semicon strengthened its ESG management by joining the United Nations Global Compact at the end of last year, becoming the first domestic fabless company to do so. Furthermore, through the ESG vision declaration ceremony in April, the company pledged to fulfill its corporate social responsibility and practice ESG management by creating a fair and transparent corporate environment.


Son Bo-ik, CEO of LX Semicon, emphasized, "We have set the direction and goals for ESG management to be actively promoted this year," adding, "Based on this, we will internalize ESG throughout management to fulfill environmental and social responsibilities."
