Pukyong National University and KIAT Hold 2nd MOT Council Meeting ... 11 MOT Graduate Schools Including Pukyong National University Participate Pukyong National University.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The 2nd Technology Management (MOT) Council event, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and jointly organized by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) and the Graduate School of Technology Management at Pukyong National University, was held on the 30th at the Capri Hall on the 2nd floor of Paradise Hotel in Haeundae, Busan.


The event was attended by about 50 people, including representatives from 11 technology management (specialized) graduate schools nationwide participating in the Convergence Technology Commercialization Expansion Specialized Workforce Training Project, such as Pukyong National University, Korea University, Sogang University, Sungkyunkwan University, UNIST, Hanyang University, Hoseo University, Kyungpook National University, Gyeongsang National University, Jeonbuk National University, and Chungbuk National University, as well as officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and KIAT.


The event was organized under the theme of "Regional Innovation and Technology Commercialization" to explore the development direction of technology management among participating universities in the Convergence Technology Commercialization Expansion Specialized Workforce Training Project and to provide opportunities to benchmark achievements and know-how in convergence technology commercialization.


At the event, the presenters were Oh Jeong-hwan, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation at Pukyong National University, and Park Byung-hak, Director at Sungwoo Hightech, who gave presentations on "Industry-Academic Cooperation Achievements and Future Strategies of Pukyong National University" and "Innovation Strategies in the Electric Vehicle Era," respectively.


Following this, participating universities introduced excellent achievement cases from each project group and held sessions to share industry-academic cooperation and technology commercialization outcomes for mutual benchmarking.


Pukyong National University introduced excellent cases of industry-academic cooperation projects jointly promoted with family companies through the industry-academic cooperation company support platform ‘iDRAGON’.


UNIST presented the results of big data/AI consulting for smart factory advancement of local small and medium-sized manufacturing companies and the operation outcomes of the technology commercialization academy for small and medium enterprises in Ulsan.


Hoseo University introduced the achievements and future plans of family companies based on the ‘ABL’ education model that solves on-site corporate problems and their global commercialization results.


Korea University presented the achievements and advancement plans of the venture family company growth support program ‘Korea MVP,’ and Sogang University presented cases of technology transfer to family companies and support outcomes for family businesses.


Sungkyunkwan University shared success cases of the ‘Tech Bridge’ service that supports from R&D partner discovery to commercialization, and Hanyang University introduced cases and achievements of operating education and research platforms among technology management graduate schools.


Kyungpook National University presented outcomes of industry-academic projects linked to curriculum such as practical big data use and technology startups, and Gyeongsang National University announced the achievements of its unique industry-academic cooperation education model ‘STAR-G’.


Jeonbuk National University introduced industry-academic projects in strategic industries of the Honam region such as commercial vehicles and bio/agriculture life sciences, as well as the proactive graduate student recruitment program ‘MOT-RS’.


Chungbuk National University presented the system and achievements of industry-academic projects in the digital healthcare field based on responsible tutors and team teaching.


Park Kyung-ho, Director of KIAT, said, “The event is expected to be a good opportunity to benchmark successful cases of industry-academic cooperation among technology management (MOT) graduate schools leading regional innovation and technology commercialization and to expand cooperation.”


Lee Woon-sik, Dean of MOT at Pukyong National University, said, “The event, where technology management graduate schools nationwide gather in one place after a long time, is expected to become a cooperation and innovation platform transcending regions and industries.”
