[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Cho Eung-cheon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the decision on mid-level prosecutor personnel appointments made without the appointment of a Prosecutor General, calling it "a complete personnel arrangement from start to finish to ensure that investigations proceed exactly according to the wishes of President Yoon Seok-yeol and Minister Han Dong-hoon."

On the 30th, Cho appeared on MBC Radio's Kim Jong-bae's Focus and made these remarks. When asked if investigations would begin according to the wishes of President Yoon and Minister Han, he replied, "If they didn't want that, why would they have made personnel changes like this?"

He also pointed out that the position of Prosecutor General should be abolished. He criticized the current administration for pushing through personnel appointments consecutively without filling the vacant Prosecutor General position. He said, "(Regarding the personnel appointments) they say the Deputy Prosecutor General acted as the interim Prosecutor General, so there is no legal problem, but if the Deputy continues to act, that should be fine," adding, "Why keep the Prosecutor General position at a ministerial level and pay a high salary unnecessarily? I would like to suggest abolishing the Prosecutor General position," he sarcastically remarked.

Regarding the negotiations on the organization of the National Assembly, which have not reached bipartisan agreement, Cho said, "We (the Democratic Party) should make more concessions to quickly organize the National Assembly and respond to what is called a perfect storm with our 170 seats," adding, "I think we are too sluggish, stuck in the inertia of the past five years."
