Call for Withdrawal of Nominee Kim Seung-hee and Apology from Yoon

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Park Hong-geun, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the ruling party for refusing to submit the list for the Special Committee on Judicial Reform, causing delays in the National Assembly's organization negotiations, calling it "bad politics."
On the 30th, at the Democratic Party's policy coordination meeting, Floor Leader Park said, "Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, stated that he could not accept the Special Committee on Judicial Reform despite his busy special envoy schedule," adding, "I clearly remember that Floor Leader Kwon suggested discussing the Special Committee on Judicial Reform together during the second half of the National Assembly organization. Is his mind different when entering and leaving the restroom?"
He then reiterated the possibility of intervention by Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon. He said, "However, claiming that the resolution on the Special Committee on Judicial Reform is unsatisfactory and setting new conditions is bad politics," and pointed out, "Is the so-called 'Han Dong-hoon mini-president' behind the ruling party floor leader's wavering stance?"
He added, "Even the agreement ratified by both ruling and opposition parties was torn to shreds by a single phone call from Minister of Justice Han at the time," and said, "I hope this is not true, but there is overwhelming evidence that the Minister of Justice, a close aide to the president, effectively ordered a constitutional dispute judgment, obstructing the normalization of the National Assembly."
He emphasized, "I want to stress once again that this is an issue that both parties should resolve through cooperation. The slower the National Assembly normalization, the more urgent the people's livelihood economy and national governance become," and warned, "Please do not forget that the responsibility lies entirely with the ruling party."
On the same day, Floor Leader Park also criticized, "A perfect storm is approaching in areas such as inflation and people's livelihood, but there is no visible control tower," and said, "The ruling party floor leader abandoned the normalization of the National Assembly and boarded a flight to the Philippines, while Yoon's core aides are busy pursuing their own politics."
He also urged an immediate withdrawal of the nomination and a sincere apology from President Yoon regarding the Central Election Commission's report to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office accusing Kim Seung-hee, nominee for Minister of Health and Welfare, of violating the Political Funds Act.
