[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will intensively identify households at risk in welfare blind spots from July 1 to August 31 to prepare for the summer heatwave.
The main targets for identification are ▲households notified through the Welfare Blind Spot Identification Management System ▲welfare crisis households such as emergency heatwave rescue cases ▲marginalized groups who need help but do not receive support (such as those whose basic living benefits have been suspended and non-typical housing vulnerable groups) ▲and other low-income poor groups who have difficulty living and need assistance.
Suwon City previously formed the 'Summer Welfare Blind Spot Intensive Identification TF (Task Force)' led by the Director of the Welfare and Women’s Bureau.
Through the TF, customized support will be provided to selected households. They will be guided to apply for public benefits such as the Basic Livelihood Security Program and Emergency Welfare Support Program (Gyeonggi Province-type emergency welfare), and for households wishing to receive welfare services provided by other institutions such as financial and housing support, the 'Happiness e-um Service Request' will be used to connect with LH and others.
Additionally, those who cannot be helped by public support alone will be selected as integrated case management targets, and private resources such as local community security council resources will be linked.
A city official explained, "We plan to actively identify and support target groups to ensure that no vulnerable groups suffer from the summer heat."
