[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The first approval by Lee Jae-jun, the mayor-elect of Suwon, is expected to be the 'contract signing for attracting high-tech companies.'
The Suwon Mayor Transition Committee announced on the 30th that Lee Jae-jun, after his inauguration ceremony on the 1st of next month, will promptly approve the agreement for the relocation and investment of the headquarters and affiliates of the advanced bio company SD Biosensor to Suwon.
During the election period, Lee promised to attract 30 high-tech companies, including large corporations, to lay the foundation for revitalizing the Suwon regional economy.
If this agreement with SD Biosensor is finalized, a global R&D center will be built in Suwon City, which will supply two plots of land totaling 670㎡ (2,200 pyeong) for this purpose.
After the inauguration, Lee plans to visit the site of Sims Bionics located in the Suwon Delta Plex Management Corporation. This reflects Lee's intention to listen to the voices of companies within the Delta Plex Industrial Complex, which is about to be designated as a declining industrial complex, and actively incorporate their feedback into policy.
A transition committee official stated, "Lee is committed to listening to the voices of on-site entrepreneurs and aims to create a more dynamic economic city, 'Special Economic City Suwon.'"
